At Vitae, when we hear the words, “Another media campaign is starting…” we know that means…more lives will be saved/hearts and minds changed.

Last months billboard campaign in the Greater Kansas City market is living up to that standard in a big way.   You can read about it and more here.

Here’s a story of one of the women helped by this latest campaign that directed women like “Jane” to The Women’s Clinic.

“Jane’s Story”

Her story, like so many, is all too common. A woman at the end of her rope and believing there are no options but abortion.

Jane went to The Women’s Clinic for a pregnancy test.  She had seen one of the Vitae billboards, called the clinic and decided to go in and talk to them.  She was very abortion vulnerable due to having no outside support for her unplanned pregnancy and not being married.

She said she didn’t believe in abortion; however, she stated that she was not going to deny abortion as a possible option.  She wasn’t sure how the father of the baby would feel about her pregnancy.  Due to her financial situation and other children at home, she indicated that she was open to considering adoption.  By the end of the counseling session, Jane agreed to make an appointment to talk to an adoption counselor.

A few days later the pregnancy center followed up by phone with her and asked how she was doing and she said that she was very confused about what she should do.

Then the following week Jane went in for the adoption counseling. When asked how everything was going she said, “Not good,” and admitted she was really considering abortion as an option.

The Center continued to work with Jane and she has since decided not to have an abortion.  Jane needed information about her options other than abortion.  She also needed support and real help.   While she continues to weigh adoption or to parent her baby, one thing is certain in her mind…abortion is no longer an option.

The Women’s Clinic work with many women like Jane offering  real help and hope to all.  Vitae is blessed to work with The Women’s Clinic as well as other pregnancy centers in that market and across the country.  They are the front line defense in this battle for lives.
